I recently bought the scarce 2017 silver 25 paisa. This is indeed a strange coin: I have not been able to find any explanation why it was even minted. An old article by Nicholas Rhodes points out the fact that the dies must have been made especially for the coin as there are no circulation coins with this date.
Is there any new information about this coin
I have only heard of the existence of 3-4 specimens of this coin, my own included. Is it that rare?
