I wonder if circulation coins dated 2058 were struck both for the assasinated and for the new king of Nepal? So far I have only seen 2058 coins from the new king.

In 2058VS no coin were struck for the assassinated late king Birendra Vira Vikrama, as he was assassinated at the beginning of the year 2058 (on 50th day of the year 2058). Since the very beginning of the year 2058 coins struck for new king Gyanendra .

However, it is interesting to know that present king Gyanendra was the king of Nepal at the age of four from November 7,1950 for three months only. Two silver and two Gold coins were struck in his name which became very scarce now.

Thanks for the answer.

Yes, I did know that king Gyanendra had a short period as kind in 1950. It is quite impressive to become king once again after more than fifty years - although the circumstances are tragic.
