Nepal to host gathering of Everest summiteers

Come to Nepal on May 29 of this year it will make exactly 50 year since Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa bacame the first human being to set foot on Mt.Everest, the worlds highest peak.

To commemorate this great occasion Nepal is hosting a gathering of Mt. Everest summiteers as a major part of program of the Mt. Everest Golden jubilee celebrations. (MEGJC) On this occasion Special set of postage stamps and expedition covers will be issued. Commemorative coins will be minted to commemorate this occasion.

All are invited.

"Sir Edmund HIllary and Junko Tabei have agreed to be the honerary president and vice president of the MEGJC and will be in Kathmandu for a two day gathering of MT. Everest summiteers."

MEGJC will hold various adventure spots and other programms to promote Nepal in International tourism map.

The MEGJC invites all Mt. Everest summiteers and mountain lovers to visit Nepal for a special get-together on 28 and 29th of May 2003.
