Recently I was fortunate enough to buy a silver jawa in a Danish auction - not quite the place I expected to find one!

The coin came with a history: it came out of the British Museum in 1971 in exchange for an old Persian coin.

It has taken me a very long time to find a jawa and I have not been able to find much litterature about it - what I know is basically what I have read in the book on Nepalese coins by Nicholas Rhodes. He mentions that about 50 silver jawas are in the collection of the British Museum. How many of these coins are there in fact among collectors? I looks to me like there are very few Question
