On 12th April, 2007 Nepal issued Rupees 10 x 16 Different Himalayan Orchid flower stamps per sheet (Miniature Sheet). Picture shows the First Day Cover, issued on this occasion.

On 14th March 2007, Nepal Philatelic Society (NPS)has issued only 500 pieces “Commemorative Numismatic and Philatelic Combination Card” with new Rupees 25.00 coin and Rupees 5 stamp to commemorate the new coin issued on the occasion of 125 year of Nepal postage stamp.
The postage stamps of Rupees 5,20 and 100 along with Souvenir Sheet of Rupees 125 were issued on 9th October, 2006.

On 20th December 2006, Nepal postal service department issued a Rupees 30 denomination new postage stamp to commemorate the 2550th the anniversary of Lord Buddha with following technical details;
1) Subject: 2550 Anniversary of Buddha
2) Denomination: Rupees 30.00
3) Color: Four colors and phosphor print
4) Sheet Composition: 16 stamps per sheet
5) Size: 40 x 30 mm
6) Format: Vertical
7) Quantity: One Million only.

On 5th March 2004 Nepal has issued Rupees 5 denomination commemorative
postage stamp to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Social Service of
United Mission to Nepal.
On 25th March 2004 Nepal has issued another Rupees 5 denomination
commemorative postage stamp to commemorate the 25th. Anniversary of Nepal
Netra Jyoti Sangh.

On 23rd December 2003, Nepal issued a beautiful set of 4 Himalayan Flower stamps. The flowers are of Lotus, Picrorhiza, Himalayan Rhubarb and Night Jasmine. They are of Rupees 10 Denomination containing 16 stamps in each sheet (four set of block of four) having four color combination on it.

First Day cover with beautiful cachet and synopsis were also released on 23rd Dec. 2003 at GPO Kathmandu.

Mr. Dick Van Der Wateren the Vice President of "Nepal Tibet Philatelic Study Circle" visited Nepal Philatelic Society, Kathmandu, new office on 1st February 2004. He was touring Nepal for a week.
The President of Nepal Philatelic Society Mr. Kedar Pradhan had given a luncheon in his honor at Marcopolo Business Hotel on 1st February. About 20 active member of NPS were present there. After short note on the promotional philatelic activities in Nepal, Dick gave a generous donation of Euro 200 to NPS.
Similarly, a Dinner was hosted in his honor on 31st of January 2004 by Mr. Sagar M. Shrestha the coordinator for the "Friends of Nepal Tibet Study Circle". Many renowned philatelists of Kathmandu were present on this occasion. After having exchanged provoking thoughts and ideas on Nepal Philately, Dick left Kathmandu on 3rd Feb. at 8pm local time.

Nepal philatelic society is going to have new executive body election on 13th of September, 2003. NPS has informed its members that the annual general meeting and new election for the board of executive will be held. This board will be for two years tenure.

This is a sheet of 16 x 25 Rupees postage stamp issued on 29th May 2003 to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the first ascent of MT. Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

Babu Chiri Sherpa, world renowned mountaineer was born in 1965 A.D. at Taksindu Village Development Committee in Solukhumbu District as son of Lhakpa Sherpa
and Pasi Sherpa. He started to climb the scaled 9954 meter high Mount Mera in
1988. Likewise, he ascended Mt. Kanchanjanga, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt.
Ama Dablam and successfully climbed the Mt. Everest ten times. In 1999 he spent
21 hours on top of the Mt. Everest without using bottle oxygen setting world
record. On 21 May 2000, he climbed the Mt. Everest in sixteen hours and fifty-six
minutes, the shortest duration covered from the base camp, setting world record
at that time and becoming world renowned mountaineer. He was decorated with
Suprasiddha Gorakha Dakshin Bahu First class and awarded with many more decorations. He passed away unfortunately in an accident on 29 April, 2001 in crevasse while
on his way to scale the highest peak on the earth for the eleventh time.
The portrait of this world renowned mountaineer Babu Chiti Sherpa along with
the background picture of Mt. Everest is depicted in the postage stamp, in order
to commemorate the importance of this brave and world renowned records. This
cover has the autograph of 13 time Everest Summiter Apa Sherpa.

On 29th May 2003 Nepal has issued Rs. 25 Denomination postage stamp to mark the "Golden Jubilee of the First Ascent of Mt. Everest 2003."
On this occassion commemorative covers were also issued to mark different records set by Everest Summiters.

Recently NEPAL NUSMATIC SOCIETY has been formed in Nepal under the presidentship of Mr. Sagar M. Shrestha.
There will be a National Philatelic Exhibition 2003 (NEPHIL 2003) from 19th to 23rd Feb 2003 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
