On 14th March 2007, Nepal issued a new commemorative coin of Rupees 25 denomination to commemorate 125 year of Postage stamp in Nepal.
After political changes in Nepal this is the first coin without the name of the king. The regular obverse design has been changed. Instead of regular obverse design, there is a postal runner carrying postal bag at his back and at right hand the famous Bhala (pointed stick). On reverse there is the image of first one anna postage stamp issued in 1881, at the centre, surrounded by the legend “125 years first postage stamp” in Nepali and English and Rupees 25 at left and right with following specification;
Denomination – Rupees 25
Size - 29mm
Metal Composition - Copper-Nickel
Weight - 8.5 gm
